Debunking the Modern Relationship.
A Men’s Rea™ Seminar for mixed-gender audiences. Offered exclusively to institutions.
Course Description.
Modern dating and relationship culture has been captured by deep frustration and confusion. Today's adults navigate the complexities of intimacy under significant strain, often drawing their knowledge from polarized mediums that range from the reactionary rhetoric of the "manosphere" to fierce moral condemnations by radical feminism. Consequently, many individuals find themselves engaging in a social dance built upon half-understood rules and gender scripts to which no one truly consented. Debunking the Modern Relationship is an invitation to pause this charade. Led by Professor Christine E. Ohenewah—a law-trained educator, former White Collar criminal defense lawyer, and founder of ETF—this interactive seminar treats the complexities of the heart with the intellectual seriousness of legal inquiry. By applying concrete legal concepts like intent, duress, reasonableness, and duty, Professor Ohenewah provides seminar participants with the analytical tools necessary to deconstruct modern relationship tropes and rebuild them into frameworks that are more humanely honest and sustainable. Reframing the Discourse: This seminar serves as a vital intervention in the present social discourse surrounding masculinity and gender relations. Rather than perpetuating parallel silos where men and women speak past one another, both parties are challenged in real time to reassess their assumptions on masculine and feminine norms. Participants Examine: ◘The Contours of Power: How dating and gender stereotypes function as discreet contractual agreements that dictate the distribution of power within relationships. ◘The Shadows of Attraction: Relentlessly interrogating overt and covert desires to better understand how social narratives distort expectations of intimacy. ◘Radical Accountability: Identifying what agency looks like for each gender by acknowledging the real pressures men carry while inviting women to recalibrate their understanding of their own lived experiences alongside that of men's. Ultimately, this seminar seeks to resolve gender discord by establishing a deeply honest exchange between men and women that clearly names desires and outcomes while rebuilding self-trust. This way, men and women become equipped to claim their power and autonomy. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Booking & Programming: Available as a 90-minute session or 3-hour intensive with Q&A.
